Protest Poster Draft 1: Domino Effect
In this drawing, I utilised the idea of metaphors to create a line of trees on a road. Each tree that has some level of detail is marked with a hole, which some would jump to a conclusion and say its just holes for squirrels. If you pay attention though, the holes represent dice, which are commonly used to knock each other over in a domino effect. Using burrows to represent that each tree is a domino then leads towards the fact that the first tree has been cut at its base, which is then causing the tree next to it to start falling over, which will then cause the third tree to fall over and so on and so forth. The text at the bottom of the page says "It's only one tree". This line is commonly used for by people who do bad habits etc, and in this case, only one tree is going to eventually lead to more trees being cut down. If I could improve this image, I would try to make it more apparent that the trees were dominoes, and that the trees are falling over like dominoes

Protest Poster Draft 2: Mother and Child
In this drawing, I utilised the idea of personification to create a mother tree, holding a sapling child, while looking horrified as there is a sign in the bottom left corner that reads "Marked for clearing". The text on the side reads "What if it was your child?" This poster is meant to make people feel empathetic towards the trees, as if they were in their situation, they wouldn't want to be cut down, nor their children. The facial expression of both the mother and child are intended to invoke further empathy in the people who see the poster. I drew the face of the child to be happy, as it is oblivious, just like a child, to the seriousness of the situation. If I could improve this drawing, I would try make the lettering of the words bigger, and maybe more detail in the hair.

Protest Poster Draft 3: Which Green?
In this final draft, I utilised the idea of metaphors again to create a poster which asks the reader which green they find more important: a leaf or a $100 note. People usually refer to money as green, being that all American notes in circulation are green tinted. Leafs are of course usually green during spring and summer, only changing colour during autumn and winter. The question that the poster asks is "Which Green is more IMPORTANT to you?". This question is meant to make the reader think about the future, and whether they would want wealth, or trees that produce oxygen. This poster was ultimately chosen to be redrawn as the more polished version.

Protest poster 4 Improved draft version: Which is more Important?

In this version of the protest poster. I decided that the first drawing was a bit too plain, and needed some extra additions to make it stand out more. My first instinct was to redraw how the $100 note looked. I based it off the American dollar note as the Australian $100 note is much more of a challenge to draw and I am not an experienced artist. After finishing the Franklin note, I then worked on writing the text that would go across the page, creating a different font for each different word. I added flowers where the dot of an i would be, along with upgrading the 2c coin from the first drawing to an Australian $2 coin. After drawing that I worked on drawing the leaf, and flowers around the word important, to give the poster a more aesthetic look, along with a better nature look. The colour I chose to go along with the 4th image was green, as it is the colour that is being discussed in the photo. I coloured the dollar bill green, along with the top of some letters and the leaves of the letter Y. If I could improve this image, I would add something to the right side of the page, as it is quite baron.

Protest poster 5 Coloured in version: Which is more Important?

For the final image, I coloured in the rest of the poster, except for the background, which i left blank, to make it easier for the reader to read what the text is saying. I coloured the letters to look like trees, I coloured in the flowers pink for a nice standout. For the smaller flowers, I coloured them different than the rest, to give the poster more colour overall. Although I am happy with this poster, I do have some issues with it, one being that right side of the image can look a small bit bare. Along with that issue, the words "is more" look a tad bit too small, and don't utilise the amount of spare that's above them, and they can sometimes get lost in the flower part of the drawing. However other than that, I think I drew a decent protest poster.
